Artfire vs Etsy

I've been through this before, got nowhere with it, but had to try again. I'm talking about having an Artfire shop. I keep hearing about how bad Etsy is and how you should go somewhere else like Artfire. When I tried before, everyone said you have got to have a Pro shop in order to get some recognition. Now that they have reduced to price I figured what could I lose but ten bucks. So here I am, one week later and not much is happening. No, I didn't really expect any sales, but a little traffic would be nice. I followed all the suggestions, fixed up my shop, posted in the forums, tweeted, and today I have even started creating collections.
I have seen my viewership and sales steadily increase at Etsy and have had tons of positive feedback. At Artfire I still remain unnoticed, even though I think my items are superior to my competition. I'll give it another month or two and see what happens.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

String Block Swap

I know I always complain about block swapping and swear I'll never do it again, but the HGTV CYOC (choose your own color) String Block swap is different. I really like making and swapping string blocks. It doesn't matter much who you are swapping with. The newbie can't screw up a string block so bad that you can't use it somewhere. And as for the seasoned pro, it's a super easy way to clear out your string stash and get some blocks done quickly.
If you would like to join in on the fun ( or just want to follow along) you can get all the info you need here at the HGTV CYOC thread

Just One Block

I got an email from my good friend Glenda the other day, saying that Dorothy will be celebrating her 80th birthday. The girls at the bee are going to make her a quilt and would like everyone to donate a block. Dorothy's favorite colors are purple and silver (not exactly the easiest colors to come by). I'm not really sure I know who Dorothy is, but I love making just one block.

January Block Lotto

It has been awhile since there was a block at the Block Lotto that I liked. But January starts the new year and a block I really do like. I love using brights and this block is super easy. I think it would make a great childrens charity quilt. Now that the craziness of the holidays are finally over, why don't you join us? Here's the link.

African Violets

Ooops, I guess I should have brought these inside when the temperature hit 36.
